Know About Top Foods to Strengthen your Nails

Well, did you know that nails reveal a lot about your health?

The appearance, texture or shape of your nails could indicate nutrient deficiencies in your body. A good balanced diet can help your nails become strong and healthy. If you think your nails are dry, brittle or break easily, your poor diet could be the reason.

It is said that fingernails can be an indicator of underlying health concerns, or even just visible proof that your diet is lacking in certain important vitamins and nutrients.

Here are a few foods which could help you get stronger and beautiful nails:

Berries

Berries are everyone’s favourite and you could easy stuff yourself up with berry-licious smoothies and salads For thicker, stronger tips of nails, consume blackberries, blueberries, strawberries as they are high in antioxidants which help protect your body’s cells against free radical damage. This free radical damage increases stress hormones and inflammation, which impacts all cells in the body, including those in the hair and nails. Vitamin C helps produce collagen in the body which is naturally responsible for making nails more resilient.

Leafy Green Veggies

To be able to brag about your great nails, it is essential to include greens in your diet. They help make your nails tough. Leafy green veggies like kale, spinach, broccoli, and collard greens provide your body with enough doses of iron, folate, and calcium to get nails back into fighting shape.

Sunflower seeds

Seeds, especially sunflower seeds are also the perfect antidote to weakened nails.  Sunflower seeds contain rare trace minerals manganese and copper, which are essential for the production of connective tissue in bones and cartilage.
These crunchy seeds contain Vitamin B6, zinc, and Vitamin E contribute to healthy fingernails and strong bones.

Eggs

Nails are made out of protein, so adding natural protein sources to your diet is essential. Eggs also contain Vitamin B12, Vitamins A and E, iron, and biotin. Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H has been scientifically shown to increase fingernail thickness and reduce brittleness and splitting. An egg is one of the few rich sources in Vitamin D and helps in growth of strong fingernails.

Unlike meats, the protein in eggs is digestible better and easily taken up by the body.

Salmon

Salmon, a fatty fish has high protein content and is rich in biotin and omega-3 fatty acids, three essential nutrients for lush nails. Salmon is full of healthy fats and vitamins B6 and B12, which will keep nails from splitting, breaking, peeling, or otherwise falling apart.

Over to you

Hope you understood the fact that it’s not just about treating your nails with regular manicures; food too can enhance your nail health.

No amount of sadness can beat the one which girls feel when their nail(s) break. You better take care of your nails so that you can flaunt them right.
