Method
- Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
- Preheat the broiler on the high setting. Arrange the cut bananas, cut-side up, in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Mix 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon into 1 teaspoon jaggery powder in a small bowl to avoid clumping. Carefully sprinkle the spiced sugar onto the cut surfaces of the bananas. Make sure the jaggery is applied evenly because it will caramelize and provide the main seasoning for the fruit.
- Broil the jaggery-topped bananas, about 6 inches from the heat, for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the heat immediately.
- Serve the bananas fresh out of the oven.
