Here are some tips about how you can do safe shopping and handle your grocery
- Go when stores are less crowded: Okay, so, the first and foremost step is to look out on the shopping time i.e. don’t go out for shopping during the peak-hours like evening. Most people are out on grocery shopping at that time and this can increase the risk of getting the virus. Experts said that minimise your visits to grocery shopping to twice in two weeks. While you go shopping maintain six feet distance from other people and try to shop from less crowded shops or places.
Don’t spend a lot of time while selecting your products and hurry up your shopping as much as you can! Pre-plan your list so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time in the market or store.
- Clean your hands and cart: When you reach the store, make sure you clean your cart with a hand sanitizer and then your hands. Take care and touch only the things which you want to buy. Don’t touch the walls, cabinets, railings or any other thing as it is touched by thousands of people before you. Make sure you prepare your list on a paper and don’t use your cell phone while shopping. Cleaning your hands and cart with a sanitizer is the safest way to shop and to kill the germs. Also, don’t carry any stuff in your hands as the risk of contamination increases.
- Wash your food packaging: Your food packaging can contain germs and virus. So, as soon as you get inside your home with the products, take out and wash it off. Soak it in some water and add some dishwasher and clean all the wrapper and food products properly. If you takeout your own carry bag, wash it properly as well. If you have kids in your house, make sure they won’t touch any of the products or shopping bag before washing.
- Wear your gloves: Wearing your gloves and masks while shopping is a great way to reduce the risk of getting the virus. Make sure you don’t touch any person or your personal belonging with those gloves and throw them safely as soon as you get home.
- Be wise with your usage and pre-plan your list: There is nothing better than utilising your resources carefully and avoiding going outside as much as you can. Take care of how much you need, what you can save and reduce the wastage as it is quite important these days. By keeping these pointers in mind you can easily make out the most of your ingredients. Before going out, check out all your ingredients and make a list of what exactly you need and this way you can touch what you need and reduce the shopping time.
