These Dry Fruit Besan Laddoos bring together the earthy taste of roasted gram flour and the richness of dry fruits, naturally sweetened with jaggery. The laddoos are nutrient-dense and make for a delightful, guilt-free dessert.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams gram flour
- 20 grams mixed dry fruits (chopped almonds, cashews, and pistachios)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 15 grams jaggery
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Procedure:
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee on low flame. Add the besan and roast it, stirring continuously, for about 10–12 minutes until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
- Add the chopped dry fruits to the roasted besan and mix well. Continue roasting for 1–2 more minutes, allowing the dry fruits to blend in and become slightly crispy.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Add the jaggery powder and cardamom powder to the warm mixture and mix until the jaggery melts slightly and combines with the besan.
- While the mixture is still warm, grease your palms with a bit of ghee. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round laddoos.
- Allow the laddoos to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container. Enjoy these nutritious and flavorful treats!
