6 Ways to Make Cooling Buttermilk at Home

Buttermilk adds that extra zing to your taste buds. Buttermilk is extremely beneficial for the human body and gives plenty of health benefits like aiding in digestion, lowering down the cholesterol levels, blood pressure and strengthening of bones. Buttermilk creates a balance of water and electrolytes in the body which is essential in summers.

Take half a glass of buttermilk and add half a glass of water, add a pinch of salt and blend them together and keep it in the refrigerator for half an hour. Add herbs of your choices and garnish with one teaspoon of overnight soaked chia seeds. Chia seeds are rich in calcium, fibre and iron and provide good fatty acids to keep cholesterol levels in check.
Blend curd with the required amount of water, add salt to this. Add chopped ginger and coriander leaves and blend again. Pour the spiced buttermilk into the glasses and top it with some more coriander leaves and black pepper. Ginger helps in easy digestion and removing flatulence from the body while coriander is a source of dietary fibre.
In a grinder, grind a few sprigs of mint (pudina), coriander and a few ice cubes. In the next round, add two tablespoons of curd and spices like roasted jeera (cumin seeds) powder, mango powder, chaat masala with few lemon drops and salt blend again. Pour it in a mason jar and you are ready to go! Mint provides a cooling effect and is helpful in improving digestion or curing an upset stomach.
Pressure cook the beetroot and boil it with two whistles in a glass of water. Let the beetroot cool down and blend it with green chillies and curry leaves, strain the pureed beetroot mix in a bowl and add a tablespoon of curd to it. Add black salt and blend again. Add your favourite seasonings and serve chilled. Beetroot is rich in iron and helps in lowering blood pressure.
To a glass of half water and half curd, add a few drops of honey and salt as per your taste. Blend them altogether and it’s ready! Add some coriander leaves and grated soaked dates to garnish it. It helps fight acidity while dates are a rich source of antioxidants and have a low glycemic index. Honey, on the other hand, is anti-inflammatory and a healthy alternative to refined sugar.
All you have to do is just take some curd, water and salt. Blend them all together until you get a smooth consistency. Garnish it with the coriander or the way you like it and you are all set to consume it. This instant natural refreshing drink can increase the growth of healthy gut flora.
