How to Make Your Own Natural Protein Drink at Home

All exercise and gym junkies crave protein shakes and supplements after a good workout. Protein paired up with an intense workout is an ideal starter pack if you are looking for ways to start working on your body. For ages, people have been drinking proteinsupplements to gain lean muscles and to build a fit body. Consuming protein is essential when are engaging in exercising. It builds up stronger bones and muscles that tear and break during workouts.

Protein shakes and supplements are not just for athletes or exercise junkies. If you are regularly working out, protein shakes can be consumed as a healthy snack. We often find ourselves munching on foods that have no nutritional value. A chilled glass of protein shake after an intense workout is the ideal snack. It is fulfilling and tempting. This is a win-win situation. Your body gets the necessary nutrients and you get a tasty snack!

Now that we know that so many people crave a healthy glass of protein shake, we have a list of recipes that you can try out to make your own protein drink at home. These drinks don’t require any protein supplement.

Here are three delicious protein drink which you can gulp down as a post-workout meal:

  • Chocolate protein shake – This is for all the chocolate and sweet lovers. Toss a chopped apple, one tablespoon grated dark chocolate, one tablespoon cocoa powder, one cup milk, half cup Greek yogurt, nuts or seeds of your choice and almond butter or caramel in the grinder. Blend all the ingredients until it turns into a thick liquid shake. Garnish your drink with grated nuts and chocolates.
  • Banana-peanut butter protein shake – Add 2 bananas, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, one cup of Greek yogurt, one cup of milk, and nuts or seeds such as walnuts, chia seeds or cashews. Blend till it turns into a thick smoothie. Sprinkle chia seeds or flaxseeds on top. Voila! Your tasty banana-peanut butter protein shake is ready.
  • Blueberry-chia seeds protein smoothie –This drink is loaded with proteins and blueberries that are rich in antioxidants. In a blender, add one cup of blueberries, one cup of Greek yogurt, one cup of milk, one tablespoon chia seeds, one tablespoon almond or peanut butter, and one spoon honey. Blend the ingredients at high speed. Pour the smoothie into a glass and sprinkle chia seeds on top.
