The festive season is approaching and so is our mood to not go for workouts and maintain a healthy diet. It is tough during festivities to maintain a fitness routine because of which you may end up piling up on your body fat. Research has proved that most of the population gain weight during this season, due to overeating, and lack of physical exercise. So we have listed a few lifestyle changes that will help you stay fit during festive season:

 

  • EAT BEFORE HEADING OUT:

 

During the festive season, we go for the meet and greets with friends and family.  You should eat something before you head out. By doing so, you will not be tempted to eat a lot and indulge yourself with food, and skipping on meals is also not a great idea because you will eat more when you reach home. So try and eat before moving out.

 

 

  • DRINK A LOT OF WATER: 

 

Drinking water or equivalent liquids will satiate your appetite. It will also not cause acidity or inflammation caused due to fatty- fried treats. Drinking liquids like lemonade, cucumber water or fresh fruit juices will help you in detoxifying and give you clearer and glowing skin.

 

 

  • GO FOR A WALK POST MEAL:

 

While you may not stop yourself from indulging, it is a good idea to go for a walk after eating. Walking alone can be a bit boring during this season. Take your friends and family together. This will boost your metabolism and help you digest food easily. A quick 30-40 minutes can be a real cracker.

 

 

  • EAT LESS AND MORE OFTEN:

 

Distribute your meals equally during the day and do not have large meals at a go. Instead of having 2 king-size meals have 5-6 small meals. This will distribute your calorie intake and help you maintain your body weights. Also, hogging on yummy treats may lead to overeating. So eat slowly, let your brain get the signal of you eating, this will make you fuller even if you are having less.

 

 

  • PRIORITIZE YOUR WORKOUTS:

 

Try to work out early in the morning when you do not have any festive chores to do. Also, working out in the morning will be beneficial for your body. You might be tempted to use light weights and just do some cardio, but remember strength training is important. With all those extra stakes of festive meals, you might just gain muscles, which is way better than gaining unwanted fat.
