With all the wedding preparation, the bride-to-be is piled up with lots of responsibilities, which makes her wide open in the nights as well. Maintaining a good sleep cycle will make you a more energetic and productive person. Fall short of it can take a serious toll on your overall health, which is the last thing that any bride would want. So are you one of those who are tired of tossing and turning at night due to the pre-wedding anxiety and stress? Here are a few tips to regulate your sleep and maintain a sleep cycle.
- CHECKOUT WHAT YOU EAT AND DRINK:
Your eating habits affect your sleep. Keep a check on that. Limit caffeine and nicotine. It’s a surprising fact that caffeine can keep you sleep deprived for about 10-12 hours! You should also avoid big meals. Try to keep your dinner a bit early in the evening and avoid having rich or spicy foods before 2 hours of sleep. This makes the food acidic and can cause stomach burn.
REGULATE YOUR SLEEP CYCLE:
Make it a habit of sleeping and waking up at the same time, every day. This helps you to set your body’s internal sleep cycle and optimise the quality of your nap. Act smart while taking a nap during the afternoon. Don’t make up for the lost sleep in the afternoon, this spoils your sleep cycle. Instead, take small naps of about 15-20 minutes and you will feel fresh and fabulous!
CLEAR THE CLUTTER FROM YOUR HEAD:
We know that a lot is going on a bride’s mind, which keeps her awake in the night. With residual stress, worry can make it difficult for you to have a good sleep. But seize down, listen to calm music. Deep breathing exercise can be a tool for you. Take 2-3 deep breaths and you will feel relaxed and stress-free.
DEVELOP A GOOD SLEEP ENVIRONMENT:
A peaceful bedtime routine gives a clue to your brain that it’s time to shut the system down and let go of the worries. Make small changes in your sleeping environment. Try and keep the noise down, keep your room ventilated and cool. Make sure that you use, light colour bedsheet and pillow covers. You can also use an aroma oil, to have a soothing effect for your sleep.
LEARN WAYS TO GET BACK TO SLEEP:
It is normal for anyone to wake up in the middle of the night. But learn to trick yourself and get back to sleep. Stay out of your head. Do a non-stimulating activity like reading a book or listening to music, and keep all the wedding brainstorming for the morning.
OVER TO YOU:
If you do not have a good night sleep, it leads to dull skin and big dark circles on your face. By experimenting the above tips and tricks you will be able to get a good sleep and you will be so ready for your wedding shenanigans!
