5 tips to keep your winter appetite in check

Winter is here and this season not only brings dryness and coldness but also take along utter hunger with it. We’ve all been there, distracted from our path because of winter and an uncontrolled unbalanced diet. This weather could be difficult to deal with if you won’t make a plan. But need not worry, you can still keep your diet and weight in check and be healthy by following some really simple tips.

What does our body need in winter?
Due to low temperature, the physical activities we performed will get minimal and there are good chances that we will be sitting on our couch munching stuff we shouldn’t be munching. Winter means less sunlight which could lead to a deficiency of Vitamin D. Poor diet and consuming unhealthy foods during this season can result in a deficiency of important nutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin A, and some good fatty acids. It is important to note that for leading a healthy lifestyle you need to consume a balanced diet that offers all the nutrients your body needs in the right amount.

5 tips for winter appetite

  • Eat healthily: Even though this may look like some general advice it is one of the most common ones people tend to get distracted from. Winter invites laziness, meaning the chances of us sitting on sofas and munching a couple of bags of chips are maximum. So, eat green leafy vegetables like spinach, drink plenty of milk to keep your diet in check.
  • Sunlight: Sunlight is already going to be scarce in winter and on top of that we may get the feeling of not leaving our sofas, so keep in mind your health and get outside your house and soak some of that sunlight to get better bones by getting vitamin D.
  • Eating high calorific value foods: Your body needs heat, so try to give it that warmth from your food rather than that blanket you’ll use to cover yourself midday when you can be doing something else. High calorific value foods are those foods which contain rich calories and can sustain your body for a longer period, some high calorific value foods are cheese, avocado, vegetable oil, nuts, and seeds.
  • Keep exercising: How to keep your body warm and get in shape? Exercise. Not only will it provide your body heat to utilize but you’ll also reach closer to your goal as well.
  • Switch your snacks to dry fruit: Not only will they provide you with some essential oils but it’ll also ensure that you are not stuffing your mouth with countless calories.

Over to you:
Winter is coming and you need to start eating healthy, more importantly, you’ll have to stay consistent. It’s going to be dry, cold and you’ll feel the urge to be lazy and eat a packet of chips, but you shouldn’t, instead follow these tips to keep your body in check and get closer to your goal, don’t let the weather be an obstacle for you.
