Air-fried Rajma ke Pakode

Air-fried Rajma ke Pakode are a delicious and healthier twist on traditional pakoras, made with boiled kidney beans (rajma) and seasoned with a blend of spices, onions, and fresh coriander. These pakoras are lightly brushed with oil and air-fried until crispy, making them a guilt-free snack or appetizer. Serve hot with green chutney for an added burst of flavor.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams boiled rajma (kidney beans)
- 30 grams besan
- 10 grams rice flour
- 20 grams finely chopped onions
- 1 finely chopped green chili
- 5 grams fresh coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon oil
Procedure:
- Mash the boiled rajma in a bowl until slightly chunky.
- Add besan, rice flour, chopped onions, green chili, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt, and chopped coriander leaves to the mashed rajma.
- Add lemon juice and mix well. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little water to bind it.
- Divide the mixture into small portions and shape them into round or oval pakoras.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes. Brush the pakoras lightly with oil and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes or until crispy and golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Serve the rajma ke pakode hot with green chutney as a healthy, crispy snack!
