Debunking Myths on Sexual Health

According to the latest studies, 80% of people are living in myths and don’t focus much on sexual health and hygiene. Be it teenagers or oldies everyone in the world is living in the thoughts of fake bubbles when it comes to sexual health.

You’ll go blind due to masturbation! Taking protection during sexual intercourse is not safe! And many more! But all of it is not true and not even worth it to put a focus on. So, by putting it all aside, we bring you some of the myth busters that will help you to maintain clean and hygienic sexual health. Well, let’s have a look at the facts and say a big bye to the myths that make you suffer that quality time in the bedroom —no, not sleep.
So, just sit back, relax, and burst the thoughts of misconceptions and stop putting emphasis on apocryphal “facts” about sex.

Let us take you through some of the most widespread misconceptions about sex.

  • Pubic hair is dirty: Shaving, waxing, and lasering off vaginal hair has become a very common thing nowadays and people don’t even give a second thought to it. But are these really healthy? Shaving off the pubic hair in the name of cleanliness is not healthy because the hair saves infections, dirt and work as a blockage to many other bacterial infections as well. If you are one of those who believe the myth of shaving is healthy then you should just put a stop to it because shaving really increases the chances of developing infections in your personal areas. You can instead opt for a trim to maintain the hygiene without shaving clean.
  • Using PH maintaining creams/ washes makes the vagina healthy: From medicines to powders to cleaning materials, our industry majorly sells products that claim to be helpful for the body’s personal spaces. But do you really think these washing creams helps in maintaining the PH levels of your vagina? Such creams or washes do very little when it comes to maintaining the health of your vagina. Just a normal cleanse with water and some soap if you may like is enough to clean you down south.
  • You should take a bath before and after sex: You have listened to it a lot of time. But believe it- it is the worst thing you can ever do! Various studies show that there are no effects on the body of pre-or post-sex bathing. Bathing before or after sex never minimizes the risk of any infections or sexually transmitted diseases. So, if you are one of those nerds who bathe before or after sexual intercourse then stop believing this fact. Well, if it makes you feel right and on the point, then go ahead. Alternatively, you can just clean the area with a wet wipe or towel.
  • Female ejaculate is actually just urine: One of the most popular misconceptions during sexual intercourse is ‘female ejaculation is all about just urine’. But no, this is not true! “Female ejaculate is not the urine but it is a milky-white fluid that hails from the Skene’s glands. This fluid is released due to the G-spot stimulation through the urethra. Yes, it is true that female ejaculation is released through the same place they pee- but not the same. This ejaculation has a different texture, colour, and smell.
  • Pulling out from penetrative sex prevents pregnancy: Pulling out while reaching the climax is one of the ways people use during the time of sexual intercourse to prevent pregnancy. Every one in five women who use this method gets pregnant every year. So, don’t rely on this method a lot because this method is not safe and can also take you through infections and sexually transmitted diseases as well.

Takeaway

So, blow your bubbles in the mind and forget about the myths and only focus on the facts and real things. Yes, sexual health is a little intimate topic, but you can always stay on pointy if you pay a little heed to the facts.
