As we interact with our surroundings, we come in contact with a lot of different substances and particulate matter. Pollutants are those substances that are present around us and cause a detrimental effect on our health. They come in contact with us through the air, water, sound, light, and possibly all earthly matter. This arises the need to ensure our safety from pollutants, as well as to control our role in the abetting of further pollution to ensure that our environment, climate as well as other living species around us do not undergo drastic changes.   • Wearing face protection when outdoors – The declining air quality in our cities is an alarming issue, thus to protect our skin and lungs it is necessary to block our environmental interaction. Masks, caps, scarves along with lotions that protect us from harmful radiation should be worn when traveling outdoors. It is recommended to travel to rural lands with low air pollution levels to detoxify your lungs.
  • Installation of purifiers at home – Be it the water or air, both purifiers are a necessity in urban areas as the contamination of natural sources has already far spread among them. To avoid the development of health issues clean air and water are a must. There are many DIY filters present for inexpensive treatment options for the general populace. There are also air-purifying plants available that are present as a green option for individuals.
  • Conservation of our environment – To tackle the main cause of the problem, that is pollution, we need to start with community care wherewith simple methods such as boycotting plastic, following the policy of reduce-reuse-recycling, usage of electric automobiles, following daylight savings method, and following cleanliness and sanitation guidelines we can reduce much of the available pollutants around us. Initiative to create green zones where there is no pollution should be encouraged. It is also necessary to educate all strata of society to follow such norms, by being an example yourselves.
