Hydration First: Give Your Boring Water a Refreshing Twist with These Easy DIYs

Staying hydrated can be challenging for some as drinking plain water all day can be boring and dull. From setting reminders to getting fancy bottles, people do lot of things to stay hydrated throughout the day. No matter what bores you, chances are there’s a way to make things interesting. If we messed with water itself, it would lead to appealing and refreshing drinks that we would want to have. What’s more, infusing water with some ingredients can actually have potential health benefits. Let’s learn some DIYs to make your boring water tempting.

PERFECT DIYs TO FILL UP YOUR JAR

  • Strawberry, mint, and lemon: Slice ½ cup strawberries, fresh or frozen. Take 5 fresh leaves of mint. Slice 1 lemon thinly. Put all these ingredients into 5 cups of fresh water and enjoy your vitamin C.
  • Honeydew, cucumber, and mint: Cut ½ cup honeydew into cubes. Slice 1 cucumber thinly. Take 10 fresh mint leaves. Pour all these ingredients in 4 cups of fresh water. Since honeydew and cucumber are already full of water, you should be aiming for less water.
  • Orange and ginger: Slice 1 orange thinly. Peel 1 medium piece of ginger and slice it thinly. Put above ingredients into 5 cups of fresh water. Enjoy therapeutic properties this drink has to offer.
  • Watermelon, kiwi, and lime: Cut 1 watermelon into cubes. Dice 1 kiwi in circles. Slice 1 lemon into circles. Put all these ingredients into 5 cups of fresh water. Enjoy this tasty and refreshing drink.
  • Mango and ginger: Peel 1 mango and cut into cubes. Take 1 medium piece of ginger and slice it thinly. Put these ingredients into 5 cups of fresh water. Enjoy the sweetness of mango.

Mind you, above refreshing drinks can also be used as alcohol solvent to make your booze less bitter and tastier.

TIPS ON HOW TO INFUSE

  • Don’t use hot water as it can break the enzymes and vitamins present in fruits.
  • Infuse fruits at room temperature for 1-2 hours or refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
  • Use a container of high quality which can tolerate everyday freezing and won’t leak.
  • The longer you infuse, the tastier it gets.
  • If you are using citrus fruits, then try to drink it within 5-6 hours.

OVER TO YOU
Either be sluggish enough to stand up and do something about your plain water or stand up and chop them fruits to mix it with your boring water to make it too tasty to miss out on.
