WHO Tweeted About How To Safely Celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr

A festival that is celebrated to mark the ending of Ramadan, the fasting month is the very auspicious EID-AL-Fitr. It is greatly observed by Muslims who eagerly wait the whole year for the festivities and celebrations. It is celebrated by distributing gifts, cooking delicacies, wearing new clothes, and greeting each other. Eid-Al-Fitr has its special Islamic prayer which is performed with a group of people and may include the raising of hands to the ears(Takbirs).
It is a festival that is celebrated all around the world and being a “feast of breaking fast”, people gather to share food and relish it.

But the covid times must have brought some threat to celebrate festivities with our loved ones. The virus is spread through respiratory secretions released by an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when coughing, sneezing, singing, talking, or breathing. Infection occurs when these particles reach the eyes, nose, or mouth of a susceptible individual, either directly through inhalation or inoculation when in close contact with an infected person or indirectly through infected surfaces. The World Health Organisation tweeted about measures to follow to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr safely with family and loved ones.

Here Are Some Measures:

  • Choose An Outdoor Place If Possible- this would ensure that the space is properly ventilated and there is enough distance between people.
  • Ensure Good Ventilation If Indoors- good ventilation can prevent the infected particles from spreading by constantly circulating the fresh air.
  • Protect The Elderly and High-Risk Groups- elderly and high-risk groups are more susceptible to the virus, so protect them by keeping a safe distance.
  • If You’re Feeling Unwell, Stay At Home- prevention is always better than the cure! If you are unwell, there are chances that you can become a transmitter of the infection. You can prevent the spread by staying home and keeping everyone safe.

The wait for this festival must be very intriguing and has taken a lot of patience throughout the lockdown. But now that there is a relief in the number of cases, we can get back to meeting our family and doing get-togethers but with maximum safety. With these measures, also make sure that you are vaccinated, wearing a mask, sanitizing frequently, coughing or sneezing with a bent elbow, and maintaining enough distance.

Over To You:
Eid-Al-Fitr is surely a day to enjoy the time with friends and family with all the prayers, beautiful attires, and food. The safety of you and your loved ones is in your hands, don’t let Covid-19 stop you from celebrating the favorable day.
