Green Papaya Salad

Green Papaya Salad, also known as Som Tum, is a refreshing and vibrant dish that captures the essence of Thai cuisine. This salad features shredded green papaya, which has a crisp texture and a mildly sweet flavor, perfectly complemented by the crunch of fresh vegetables like carrots and cucumber. Topped with roasted peanuts for extra crunch, this salad is light yet satisfying, making it an ideal option for a healthy meal or a side dish.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams peeled and shredded green papaya
- 50 grams shredded carrots
- 50 grams julienned cucumber
- 50 grams halved cherry tomatoes
- 30 grams roasted and crushed peanuts
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 small finely chopped red chili
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
- Salt, to taste
Procedure:
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded green papaya, shredded carrots, julienned cucumber, and halved cherry tomatoes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, chopped chili, minced garlic, and salt.
- Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently to combine all the ingredients.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the crushed peanuts on top for added crunch.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve immediately.
