After the summer season, the beautiful rains can be the most awaited things in the monsoon. Though monsoon is the most beautiful weather, it also brings a lot of bacterial and viral infections. Hence during winters precautions are very necessary.

Change in weather also brings about changes in the body. Monsoon has a greater impact on the immune system and digestive system. To maintain good health it is necessary to make certain dietary changes. Ayurvedic science helps a lot to maintain good health.   • Avoid Eating Outside Junk Food – During monsoon due to the atmosphere spread of germs and bacteria pick up. This leads to the spread of bacterial and viral infections. Outside foods are very tempting at times and especially roadside foods. But maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness in these places is difficult. However, it is better to avoid them as they may cause diseases.
  • Avoid Eating Green Leafy Vegetables – As the rainy season breeds contamination green leafy vegetables grow close to the ground and attract a lot of dirt. This makes cleaning green leafy vegetables difficult to clean. Instead of including vegetables like Lauki, Tinda, Turi, Pumpkin, Tam, Sweet Potato, and Brinjal.
  • Avoid Non-Vegetarian Food – During monsoon, there is a lot of humidity in the atmosphere, which leads to slow digestion. Non-Vegetarian foods are high in protein and difficult to digest. This upsets the digestive system. Also due to the high spread of bacteria and germs in the atmosphere, it becomes difficult to clean well non-vegetarian foods. This may lead to infections and viruses during the seasons.
  • Avoid Spicy and Heavy Foods – During monsoon, pitta levels are very high and it is necessary to consume light and digestible meals. One should ensure to avoid spicy, fried, sour, oily, and acidic foods as they may lead to indigestion, hyperacidity, bloating, and water retention.
  • Avoid Eating Raw Food – Ensure food is cooked well during monsoon so that digestion is not difficult. Due to the high spread of germs and bacteria, food should be washed and cleaned thoroughly. Steam and cook food well during the rainy season to avoid digestion issues.
