Tomato Onion Soup

Tomato Onion Soup is a light, flavorful soup made with fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, and spices like cumin and turmeric. It’s simmered to bring out rich flavors and can be served smooth or chunky. For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams tomatoes, chopped
- 100 grams onions, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil for cooking
- 500 ml water
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Procedure:
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, then add onions and cook until translucent.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, black pepper, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
- Add water and simmer for 10 minutes. Blend the soup to a smooth consistency (optional).
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
