Sexual health is domain which is extremely important for every individual. It determines the sexual or reproductive health of an individual, which on the other hand, determines whether the person fertile or not. 

Health, as defined by the WHO, “is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. 

Sexual health includes the ability of people to have safe and painless intercourse without facing any difficulties. Sexual health is also followed by the provision of proper education, also affordable and effective measures of birth control and good healthcare services so that pregnant women can visit the place without any hesitation during the course of their pregnancy. 

SIGNS OF GOOD SEXUAL HEALTH:

  1. Have a good impression of each other’s bodies. 
  2. Are conscious and satisfied with each other.
  3. Feeling no shy while touching each other.
  4. Enjoying each other’s company. 

HOW CAN YOU PROTECT AND MAINTAIN YOUR SEXUAL HEALTH?

Sexual health has to be taken care of very precisely because it can cause some major diseases which can be harmful for the health of an individual. 

Ways to protect and maintain your sexual health are: 

  1. Having a conversation with your better half about your sexual relationship.
  2. Using proper contraception.
  3. Making use of condoms and dental dams.
  4. Having an idea of how bad alcohol and drugs are and how detrimental they can be when it comes to your overall health, also your sexual health. 
  5. Getting yourself tested for sexually transmitted diseases if you are suspicious that you have been exposed to them. 
  6. Do not have more than one sexual partners. 
  7. Do not overlap your sexual relationships.

In order to have a proper sexual relationship with your partner and have a healthy sexual life, it is important for each and every individual to know about the likes and dislikes of their partners. Communication is the key. It is extremely important for two individuals who are in a relationship, specifically sexual relationship to communicate and explore the different domains of their bodies, failing to which can render to disturbed sexual life which ultimately destroys the overall mood and interest of an individual. 

It is also extremely important for two individuals to be absolutely comfortable in each other’s companies. They should be able to talk about their relationship with each other without any hesitation or feeling any kind of disgust. 

Apart from all the above mentioned points, it is very important for an individual to pay proper attention to the diet being consumed. A balanced and a healthy diet, without the inclusion of any unhealthy product such alcohol on a regular basis is the key for maintaining proper sexual health. Also, it is important to quit smoking as it can cause hazardous consequences.
