GHARGE/SWEET RED PUMPKIN PURI:

Nutritional benefits:
Pumpkin is a well-known multifunctional ingredient in the diet, full of nutrients
esp rich in Vitamin A (beta carotene). They are antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and have anti-ulcerative properties. This recipe is very native to Maharashtra. It is very simple & easy to prepare. So, go and try this delicious delicacy.
Ingredients:
- Pumpkin- 2 cup
- Jaggery- 1 cup
- Sugar- 2 tbsp
- Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
- Fine rawa- 1 tbsp
- Sesame seeds- 1 tbsp
- Oil- 1 tsp
- Ghee for frying
Method:
- Peel and grate pumpkin. Steam it until it becomes soft.
- While hot, add grated jaggery and mix well.
- After it cools, add whole wheat flour to the pumpkin mixture & knead to form firm dough.
- Add 1 tsp of hot oil and knead it. Dough shouldnt stick to hands.
- Divide dough equally into balls.
- Roll out puris and fry till golden brown.
