Jowar Laddoo is a wholesome and nutritious treat made from jowar flour, combined with the goodness of nuts and coconut. Naturally sweetened with dates, these laddoos are perfect for a healthy snack or dessert option, providing a delightful taste without refined sugars.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams jowar flour (sorghum flour)
- 20 grams ghee
- 30 grams grated fresh coconut
- 30 grams mixed nuts (e.g., almonds, cashews, finely chopped)
- 10-15 grams chopped dates (for natural sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of salt
Procedure:
- In a pan, heat the ghee on low heat. Add the jowar flour and roast it until it turns golden brown and emits a nutty aroma. This may take around 5-7 minutes.
- Once the flour is roasted, add the grated coconut and mixed nuts. Stir well and roast for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and fragrant.
- Remove the pan from heat. Add the chopped dates, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the dates are evenly distributed.
- Let the mixture cool slightly until it is manageable. Grease your palms with a little ghee, take small portions of the mixture, and shape them into round laddoos.
- Allow the laddoos to cool completely before serving. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
