Methi Spinach Thepla

Thepla is famous, delicious Gujarati dish which is basically a flatbread that is nutritious and super healthy. So here we are giving you one of the best option for breakfast, methi – palak theplas that are not only fulfilling but are also very beneficial to improve blood sugar levels.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams whole wheat flour
- 20 grams finely chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
- 20 grams finely chopped spinach leaves
- 1 small green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
- 2 teaspoons oil
- Water, as needed for kneading
Procedure:
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped fenugreek leaves, chopped spinach leaves, green chili, ginger paste, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, carom seeds, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Add the plain yogurt and 1 teaspoon of oil to the mixture. Mix everything well.
- Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead into a soft, pliable dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin, round thepla.
- Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Place the rolled thepla on the hot tawa.
- Cook until small bubbles appear on the surface, then flip. Apply a small amount of oil or ghee on each side and cook until both sides are golden brown and cooked through.
Serve the Methi Spinach Theplas hot with yogurt or a side of your choice.
