Mix Tangy Bhel is a classic Indian street food that combines puffed rice with crunchy roasted chana dal and fresh vegetables, all dressed in tangy and spicy chutneys. The dish is topped with chaat masala and roasted cumin powder, making it a flavorful and refreshing snack or light meal. Garnished with fresh coriander and served with lemon wedges, this bhel offers a delightful balance of textures and tastes.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 50 grams puffed rice
- 30 grams roasted chana dal
- 50 grams finely chopped onion
- 50 grams finely chopped tomato
- 50 grams finely chopped cucumber
- 2 tablespoons coriander chutney (homemade)
- 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney (homemade)
- 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Procedure:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the puffed rice, roasted chana dal, and sev.
- Add the finely chopped onion, tomato, and cucumber to the bowl.
- Drizzle the coriander chutney and tamarind chutney over the mixture. Sprinkle chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt to taste.
- Gently toss all the ingredients together to ensure they are well combined and evenly coated with the chutneys and spices.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
