On this day, a sister ties rakhi to her brother and prayers for his long, happy and healthy life. This year Raksha Bandhan falls on 11 August 2022. To celebrate memories of brother-sister fighting over the chocolate, here are a few home-made chocolate recipes to try
- Chocolate Mouse – The chocolate mouse is the creamiest dessert and easy to prepare. Ingredients required for mousse are 2-3 egg whites, 1/2 slab of 70% Dark Chocolate, 1/4 Cup Sugar, and 1 cup cream. Melt dark chocolate and whisk eggs well. In a bowl, add all the ingredients together and fold them together well. Transfer to the serving jars and refrigerate them.
- You can also make a healthy mousse with 3 simple ingredients – 1 Ripe Avocado, 2-3 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder and 2-3 Tbsp. Raw honey. In a food processor, add all the ingredients and blend until it turns into a smooth paste. Transfer into the serving jar to refrigerate and serve chill.
- Chocolate Fruit Pop – The easiest and simplest recipe that every sister can prepare for her brother. Healthy, crunchy, and chocolaty recipe to enjoy. You can choose the fruit of your choice from Strawberry, Banana, and Apple. Cut the fruit of your choice into medium size chunks and freeze them. Melt the chocolate bar using the double boiler and chop the nuts. Now coat the frozen fruit with the chocolate by dipping the fruit into the melted chocolate. Then wrap this chocolate-coated fruit with chopped nuts and again refrigerate them for 1-2 hours.
- Chocolate Ball – Gooey and tasty chocolate balls are most enjoyed by all. Let make the chocolate balls healthy by using dates, nuts, chocolate powder, and dark chocolate. In a food processor, add seedless dates, chopped nuts, and cocoa powder and blend them well. Transfer the mix into a bowl and prepare balls out of them. Melt the dark chocolate and coat balls. Refrigerate them for 2-3 hours and serve them chill.
- Chocolate Barfi – A perfect fusion of chocolate with the traditional recipe. Barfi is the most classic Indian sweet prepared during festivals. Chocolate Barfi can be prepared with the same method using ingredients like khoya, ghee, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. To prepare Barfi, in a pan, add ghee, crumbled khoya, and milk. Stir them well, until the milk becomes thick in consistency, add cocoa powder, and sugar and keep stirring. Once the milk is dried and all the ingredients bind well, switch off the flame and transfer the mixture into a tray and let Barfi settle.
