Polio is one such example, the polio vaccine has helped in eliminating deaths and paralysis.
- Protects the future generation – Vaccination has reduced and to some extent eliminated many diseases that killed or severely disabled people earlier. - Saves family time and money – Vaccine prevents children from certain diseases and permanent disabilities. When vaccines are avoided and in any case, children come in contact with preventable diseases that may cause some disabilities. To treat those diseases and illnesses, a lot of family money and time gets invested. Where a vaccine can be availed for free, a lot of investment and time is lost when the vaccine is avoided. Also, a child with a vaccine-preventable disease may get denied admission to school or a childcare facility.
- Protects others you care about – Some children are unable to take all the vaccines due to certain reasons like severe allergies, weakened immune system, too young to get all vaccinations.
