- You may have a hard time breathing as nasal congestion can occur. For some people, even listening to the name of that food can give them chills. Some individuals have an extreme reaction to certain foods known as anaphylaxis which could be fatal or life-threatening. Examples include:
- Dramatic drop in blood pressure, rapid pulse, swollen throat due to which a person might feel very difficult to breathe, and unconsciousness.

Here are some ways by which you could prevent yourself from life-threatening incidents:
- Read labels Whenever you eat something new or unfamiliar product, it’s smart to read labels to know food contents.
- Carry your antidote If you’re allergic to something, chances are your doctor has some antidote for it, which can save your life at any point of time.
- Ask your chef It is crucial to tell the restaurant’s chef about your condition whenever you go outside to eat.
Have your child wear a medical alert bracelet: – If your child has an allergic reaction to certain foods, you must make them wear alert bracelet all the time so that his surroundings can understand about his situation and take necessary actions.
