Why does leprosy exist? How to prevent it?
There are no particular food items or diets for leprosy, it is a bacterial disease. However, by maintaining a generally healthy diet and lifestyle we may prevent the said disease from infecting us. Leprosy generally occurs due to infection from the bacteria, so by maintaining a healthy diet and avoiding suspicious food we may avoid the intake of the said bacteria and thus prevent leprosy. There is no actual diet or food items which are described for leprosy, however, a generally healthy diet may help increase the probability of avoiding the said disease. Initial symptoms of the disease include white patches on the skin in odd intervals, no particular pattern is observed, on the skin around the face, neck, and limbs.
Do’s and Don’ts to improve our odds to avoid leprosy.
Do’s.
- Have a balanced diet for the consumption of all macro and micronutrients that are needed by your body for the transport of various elements to avoid deficiency.
- It’s never a bad idea to introduce some immunity boosters items. Incorporating such immunity boosters will ensure round the clock protection against foreign pathogens(in this case bacteria).
- Fats are also necessary! There are good fats and good cholesterol which is essential for the proper functioning of the body. Fats and oil provide omega acid chains which help in immunity and proper functioning of the body.
- It’s always incomplete without the greens. Incorporating green veggies and food items will provide you with numerous essential amino acids, fibers, and elements that you may not be getting. It’s always preferred to attain the nutrients naturally rather than taking supplements.
Don’t’s.
- The most common way for the pathogens to attack is by processed fast foods, we don’t know where the items have been and thus we should be on the safe side and prevent any intake of processed foods.
- Alcohol affects our liver and our digestive system. Having an irregularly high amount of alcohol may interfere with our gut and prevent our immune system to fight efficiently.
- Having a controlled intake of carbs, unnecessary high intake of sugar will hinder your health by hindering your digestion which will prevent the transport of nutrients, thus increasing your chances of getting leprosy.
- Skipping nutrients is never recommended. Always take your meals on time and make sure they are healthy. Eating the right meals at the right time will decrease your chances of getting sick significantly.
