5 Foods to overcome Winter dryness

Winter is here, and so is the season of dry and rough skin. The cool and breezy weather not only takes away the moisture of your skin, but it also leaves your skin dull and flaky.

There are certain winter-specific foods which will keep your skin nourished and moisturized.

Here are some nutritious food items you need to include in your diet, which will help you fight dry skin this winter.

  • Nuts & Seeds
  • Nuts and seeds contain high amounts of antioxidants, including vitamin E and essential fatty acids which play a crucial role in repairing the skin. From repairing damaged skin to giving a soft and perfect texture, nuts and seeds work like magic for your skin. Include nuts like almonds, walnuts or pistachios and seeds like sunflower, chia and pumpkin in your winter diet, but avoid excessive consumption.

  • Avocado
  • Avocado’s nutty flavour and its oily texture are what makes this fruit super delicious. Taste aside, avocados can give your skin the much-needed dose of nourishment this winter. Eating this fruit can bring a serious change to your skin appearance as avocados are loaded with antioxidants such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C and E.

  • Spinach is an all-time favourite when it comes to winter-specific vegetables. It is savoured in a variety of different forms, most preferably ‘Saag’. It is also rich in iron and vitamin E, which helps in blood circulation and gives your skin a pink tone.

  • Coming in a variety of different shades, this vegetable can add tons of benefits for your skin during winters. Nutrients like vitamin C which are present in bell peppers not only brightens your skin but also gives back the lost moisture.
