We all know that proper hydration is important for the body but doing so can be difficult.
Here are some signs to assess whether you are drinking enough water or not and some ways to fix it.
- Dark colour urine: Taking fewer trips to the washroom say less than 4-5 is one of the most common signs of water deficiency in the body. Not consuming enough water also leads to dark yellow colour urine instead of pale. So, if you are noticing these signs then it might be the time to increase your intake of water. The solution to this is to vary your beverages. Make sure that you consume 8-10 glasses of water and switch your tea/coffee from the infused water, fruit tea or green tea.
- Low on energy: Feeling more tired is one of the common signs of dehydration. Tiredness and fatigue hit harder when you are low on water intake and can easily make your grumpy. You can easily fix this problem by setting your reminders to consume water or choosing foods that are high in water content. This will help in regaining your energy levels while adding up the water content in your body. Cucumber, melon, tomatoes, and radishes are all high in water content.
- Hungrier: When you are thirsty, your mind can easily misinterpret the sign and can send the signals of hunger to your stomach and hence can lead you to overeat and plenty of health ailments. Starting hydrating the body early is one of the best ways to avoid this. Consuming 1 litre of water early morning is the way to go. This will help in curbing your hunger during the day. You can also add a cup of water post-meals to reduce your appetite and to manage your weight.
- Dry skin: Skin is one of the largest organs in the body and that is why it requires proper hydration. Dry skin is one of the most common signs of water deficiency which can further convert into complexities. Lack of water consumption disturbs the body process and your body won’t be able to flush out the toxins which will lead to breakouts. Set a reminder and try to consume at least 2.5-3 litres of water to ensure proper body functions and to excrete toxins from the body.
- Mental sluggishness: If you are feeling difficulty concentrating on the regular tasks then you should go and grab a bottle of water to boost yourself. As per a study “dehydration impaired cognitive performance when it came to tasks involving attention and motor coordination.” Strategizing your water intake is the perfect way to deal with this. Make sure to consume your water at different intervals throughout the day and not in just one go. This will keep your mind active and energetic.
