You think pollution might harm your skin and might be the major reason for premature ageing but it might not be the only reason.
We all always want to and love to look young. A healthy, radiant and glowing skin is what everyone wishes for even in their later years of life. However, it is also important to understand that ageing is a natural process of growing older. Our daily habits may cause us to age faster and develop wrinkles faster.
- Not getting enough sleep– Sleep plays a vital role in our health and the aging process. Getting regular sound sleep can make the difference between looking bright in the morning and appearing 10 years older than you actually are. Inadequate sleep in women has shown signs of premature skin aging and a decrease in skin’s natural ability to heal itself after sun exposure.
- Leading a sedentary lifestyle– Sitting at one place for hours on end can not only accelerate the effects of ageing, but it could also make you more prone to chronic illnesses and lifestyle ailments. If you have a desk job, get up from your seat every one hour and walk around your office or park your vehicle a little farther to your office. Also take up a sport you can pursue during weekends to include physical activity in your schedule.
- Drinking soda/aerated beverages– The sugar content loaded in soda or aerated beverages could cause accelerated cell ageing and make you more prone to metabolic diseases. Also, it can also make your skin appear older. The high sugar content only contains empty calories and does not add up to any of the nutritional benefits.
- Using too much makeup– Using too much makeup also accelerate aging, even though you cannot see it very clearly. Too much makeup, especially if it contains a high volume of oil can block pores and causes infections. Products that contain perfume and alcohol cause dryness of the skin and also absorb moisture from the skin, as a result the share of natural skin fat decreases, hence wrinkles pop up. Furthermore, don’t forget to clean and remove makeup from your face before sleeping.
- Not including fat at all in your diet– There is certain fat that is required by the body to look young. Omega-3 fatty acids that can be found in fish (such as salmon or mackerel), certain nuts and seeds like walnuts, pumpkin seeds help the skin to stay moist and avoid wrinkles. These fatty acids also shield the health of the heart and brain.
