How to Reduce Face Puffiness in the Morning

Morning puffiness or swollen face is one of the most common things that we all suffer at one point in time. From various lifestyle factors like stress to water retention- there could be numerous reasons for face puffiness in the morning. Fortunately, morning puffiness is not a long-lasting thing. The swollen face is also associated with bloating and if you are suffering from it regularly then incorporating some dietary changes can also help. Here are some easy and laid back tips to reduce face puffiness.

  • Massaging is all you need: A good massage can do wonders to the face puffiness. Massaging your face helps in the proper circulation of the blood while pushing the unnecessary fluid down. All you have to do is just take some facial oil or moisturiser in both your palms and massage your face properly for about 15-20 minutes. Once done clean off with some cotton pads and after some time wash off. Massaging helps in relieving the stress and tensions while easing out the pain and swelling.
  • Cool Compress is the key: Poor sleep, consumption of salty food, smoking and many other factors can lead to face puffiness. A cool compression with a towel is one of the best and easiest remedies to fix a puffy face. Just take some cold water and soak a clean cloth in it, squeeze the cloth and gently press it over your face for some time. You can also keep the cloth in the fridge for additional coolness.
  • Increase your water intake: Swelling can be also be reduced by consuming more water. Sometimes, dehydration can lead to absorb water in your body’s cells and tissues and this can further cause puffiness. When you drink water, the stored water in the cells easily released and decreases the swelling and puffiness.
  • The tea bag way: We all know that tea bags can easily bid adieu to the dull and tired look. Using tea bags can also decrease the puffiness while reducing any inflammation, stress and tensions. All you have to do is take a used tea bag, refrigerate it and apply it all over your face. Caffeine found in tea can easily help in contracting the blood vessels which helps in reducing puffiness.
