We all depend on various packaged quenchers to keep ourselves cool and refreshed during summers. Surely, they are great to quench your thirst and also feel soothing to your buds but they are filled with various sweeteners and preservatives that can destroy your health like no other. Artificially sweetened beverages are filled with negative calories and it can do more than just satisfying your thirst in such hot and humid summer days. Various studies said that consuming liquid form of sugar can do more damage to your health while taking you closer to various health ailments. The reason behind this is- the sugar in liquid form is concentrated in nature and consuming it becomes even easier which leads people to ingest the larger amounts.

To make yourself all hale and hearty cut down the consumption of such drinks and instead try to consume fresh homemade buttermilk, coconut water, detox water, lemony and minty beverages or drinks and ice tea with no sugar. These drinks are natural and can easily quench your thirst without making your health suffer.

 

  • Bad oral health: Almost all the sugary drinks are rich in soda which comprises of phosphoric and carbonic acid. High consumption of such drinks can fill up your mouth with acids and can destroy your oral health and increase the chances of tooth decaying as well. Not only this, when sugar and acids combined together they can become even more damaging for the teeth and it can even create bacteria in the mouth which can further cause cavities and bad breath.

 

  • Addictive in nature: Sugary drinks are always tempting to the taste buds but it can also influence and can affect the brain’s reward system and can convert into an addiction. Now you understand why we cannot control our tongue after a glass filled with such tempting drink.

 

  • Create blockage in vessels: Apart from sugars, such drinks are also rich in additives and preservatives to keep their flavour good for later consumption and can easily take a toll on your overall health and well-being. Various studies said that various harmful chemicals are also added to such sugary drinks and they can block the blood vessels and can increase the risk of various health ailments as well.
