Cipremi, FabiFlu & Covifor- Three Treatment Medicines Available in India for COVID-19 Treatment

The pandemic coronavirus not only increases the death toll on a global level but also altered our way of living. As there was no medicine for this pandemic and almost every country was working intensely to find a cure for this virus, three pharmaceutical companies name Cipla, Glenmark and Hetero have recently launched potential drugs named as Cipremi, FabiFlu & Covifor for the treatment of COVID-19. As per sources, all of these drugs will be available for restricted emergency use for treating COVID-19 patients.
These drugs were used to cure various health problems like skin disease or arthritis but now, a generic form of them will be utilising to treat those who are suffering from COVID-19. When tested, these drugs provide great outcomes and will soon be used under strict medical observation.
Cipremi
The pharma company Cipla has launched its own Remedesivir under the name of Cipremi. As per the company, this medicine is a lyophilized powder for injection 100mg. This drug is already approved for the adults and paediatric patients suffering from the coronavirus. This drug is highly effective on those who are extremely critical and require external support of oxygen. The pricing of these is not revealed yet. Earlier, this antiviral drug was used to cure Ebola and gets a green go by the Health Ministry to cure the patients of coronavirus. However, those who are suffering from renal impairment or pregnant and lactating women are not eligible for the cipremi treatment.
Fabiflu
The Favipiravir drug titled as Fabiflu is almost ready to cure the mild-moderate symptoms of COVID-19. The company said that the dosage of 1800 mg of this medicine twice on Day 1 and 800 mg twice up to 14 days is quite effective in curing the viral while reducing the symptoms. The cost of these tablets set as, 34 tablets for Rs 3500. Both the retailers and hospitals will be providing this drug and various countries like Japan, Bangladesh and UAE already used this drug to treat the patients suffering from COVID-19. As per the company, the drug offers a rapid reduction in viral load within four days and provides faster symptomatic and radiological improvement.
Covifor
Pharmaceutical company Hetero which is based in Hyderabad launched Remdesivir drug which is titled as Covifor. This drug is not prescribed to take at home and can only be recommended under the supervision of a health care specialist. As per the company, the drug will be available in 100 mg injectable form and can treat the symptoms of COVID-19. The cost of this drug would be 5000 to 6000 per dose and treatment by this drug will cost around 30,000 per patient and 6 doses of this drug will be needed to cure the COVID-19.
