Lemon has been there in our shikanjis very prominently but apart from the sour taste, it has many benefits too. We have very often used it for weight loss, glowing skin, better digestive health and whatnot. But without any information on what additional benefits it can provide our body with. It has incredible health benefits and regular consumption helps in preventing various issues. The Ministry of Ayush tweeted about the health benefits of lemon.

Benefits of Lemon:

  • It helps in weight loss as it is known to have detoxifying properties to help clear out the toxins from the body.
  • A good source of vitamin C because it is rich in citric acid.
  • Improves digestive health by increasing the power of the digestive juices.
  • Keeps the liver fit and healthy, as it stimulates the production of enzymes present in the liver.
  • Helps in reducing skin damages and premature aging because it is rich in antioxidants that are good for the skin health.

Apart from these, lemon has been known for boosting immunity as it has detoxifying and medicinal properties. The vitamins that it has are rich in powerful antioxidants that can reduce the risk of diseases and help in building immunity.
