Award functions offer a dose of motivation to movie and television actors and so here are Golden Globe Awards which are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in recognition of outstanding achievement. Awarded for excellence in film and television, the Golden Globe Awards began in January 1944.
It is bolstering to know that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association made this change in the menu of making it to a vegan based diet. While hosting 77th annual awards, the Association explained that this decision was in support to spread awareness about food waste and food consumption. The Award show earlier used to have a gluten-free diet, though typically curated vegetarian alternatives were available for guests upon request.

Hollywood’s biggest stars witnessed an extravagant dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with an all vegan menu containing delicious sounding plant based food.
This year, the menu includes a variety of vegan options. To start with the starter, an appetizing serving of golden beet soup, to have the perfect combination, it is accompanied with gleaming statuettes. With the appetizers, they have toothsome mushroom risotto, king oyster mushroom scallops (a replica of the seafood dish) and a roasted vegetable mix. The main course further is graced with Brussels sprouts, globe carrots, and pea tendrils.
To end with, they have a vegan opera dome with praline Guanaja crumble and caramelized hazelnuts as a part of their scrumptious dessert.
Another effort which HFPA should be applauded for is that to eliminate the waste from single-use plastic, water will also be served to guests in glass bottles with paper straws.

Matthew Morgan, Executive Chef said he’s glad to be long term partners of the HFPA and pleased to support their decision to offer an entirely plant-based menu for the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards. His talented culinary team is excited to create dynamic plant-based offerings.
He feels grateful this year too to serve eminent stars that includes Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Eddie Murphy and others.
Footnote
Talking about the Golden Globes 2020, it is the first awards show to go plant-based for their menu selection, but is also the first big awards show of the season. There could be a fair chance that the majority of stars might have turned or are vegan, vegetarian or follow a raw- plant-based diet.
Earlier it was a choice to be a vegan but as experts say now it’s a need due to climate change. Turning to a vegan diet or vegetarian food not only offers environmental benefits but also provides numerous health benefits as well. With more people shifting to plant-based diets, this step of going all-vegan will provide a threshold to the ones who are still indecisive of which side to look positively.
