WHO calls for Urgent and Aggressive Action, Declares novel Coronavirus a Global Pandemic

WHO declared that the extensive reach of coronavirus across the world is a pandemic. As per the statistics, 118000 people in 114 countries around the world are suffering from the cases of COVID-19, the disease triggered by the virus.
Tedros Adhanom, director-general of the WHO said that the WHO continues to closely monitor the spread of the virus. He further added, “We are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity and by the alarming levels of inaction. We have called every day for countries to take urgent and aggressive action.”
The virus is also spread in Italy, South Korea, and the United States. We can still stop the spread of the virus can and control it, Adhanom said. He gave the example of both China and South Korea, where the virus has started diminishing. WHO said that if countries start taking action on COVID-19 then it can be solved.
This is the first disease which WHO has declared pandemic after the H1N1 “swine flu” in 2009.
