Do you get stressed out after eating a meal? Thinking about how many calories you had how much weight you might put on? It’s okay to think about your eating pattern but to the point where you don’t find yourself guilty. Some people eat a lot due to stress and then think about it and get into more stress altogether. Analyzing a food item and then having it, is a better option than finding yourself guilty afterwards. If you often find yourself in these situations, make note of these points and try to overcome your problem:
Take control of your portion size: While you plan to have a meal, take control of it. Keep a check on what you are consuming and in what quantity. It is really important to proportionate your food and not consume it over the limits. Overeating leads to stress and regretting about the food you had, to avoid such scenarios, one needs to limit the intake. Rather than opting of larger portions at once, try and choose smaller portions at regular intervals.
It is okay to overindulge occasionally: If you are a lover of food but are following a diet and you get an urge to binge onto snacks and all, you can do that without feeling guilty by keeping a fixed day for doing it and it comes with some cautions as well. Say, if you love pizza, instead of having the whole of it, go for 1-2 slices and prefer a whole wheat crust pizza instead because this way your cravings are satisfied and you don’t have to live in guilt.
Don’t be hard on yourself: It’s okay if you end up eating more than you desire because of your cravings. This won’t happen always if you start keeping note of your habits. Opting for options that are harsh on you isn’t a solution. If you are guilty of cheating, you should try and go for healthy snacking options or indulge in exercising, walking, controlling the eating habits. You can start by replacing the food you like for example if you are a sugar lover, try and substitute it with jaggery and gradually limit the amount of sugar consumed or if you love having soft drinks, substitute it with juices. This way you can make your lifestyle better and also keep your weight stable.
One ingredient cannot lead to weight gain: A whole meal does affect our weight than any piece of food say. If you have had a portion of brownie, this won’t affect the weight you are trying to maintain but if you eat the whole brownie, it definitely will. Having a little amount of snack doesn’t mean you keep on bingeing on different varieties of snacks because it is no as same as having one whole meal. It’s better to be in the boundaries of your food intake rather than taking advantage of it.
