Do you often indulge in over-eating of your favourite foods and snacks and then feel stressed and guilty about that? The calorie intake and weight gain take a toll on your brain and you get all hither and thither? If yes, then we have got you covered today! Sometimes, it’s okay to give a lot of thinking to your eating pattern but if it’s making you guilty then maybe you should definitely rethink it. Small changes in your eating pattern can do a lot more than just making you feel good. It not only helps you in loosening out those extra pounds but also makes you hale and hearty.
If you do feel guilty after eating your meal, then you should definitely make a note of these pointers to unravel your guilt and to make yourself healthy.
- Don’t get too hard on yourself: Sometimes, it’s okay to consume a lot of calories because of your cravings! But getting hard on yourself afterwards is never a good option. People usually follow strict diets and starve themselves after eating their favourite foods. Instead of getting harsh, you should start keeping notes of your habits, so that you won’t get any hunger pangs and your cravings will remain at bay. Go for healthier snacking options like smoothies, stir-fry veggies, spiced nuts, home-made kale and beetroot chips to soothe your taste buds and to keep your cravings at bay.
- Take control of your portion size: Eating your favourite food can never become a problem when you consume it smartly. By smartly, we mean, taking control of the portion size you are consuming. Keeping a track of what, when and how much you are consuming is one of the great ways to save yourself from any guilt. For example, if you crave for pizza then consuming a slice in two weeks might not hurt and won’t lead to unnecessary weight gain as compared to eating a whole in one go. So, opt for smaller portions at regular intervals rather than going for big ones.
- Re-create your food at home: If you have tried everything and still won’t be able to control your hunger pangs then one of the best ways to satiate yourself without any guilty is- make your food at home and swap your ingredients with the healthier ones. Say, if you want to eat pizza, you can choose whole wheat thin crust base, add plenty of veggies in it, make your pizza sauce at home and replace the mozzarella cheese from cottage cheese. And that is how you can satisfy your cravings without any guilt.
- Include cheat days: Planning a day for cheat meals is a great way to avoid any unnecessary binging throughout the week. It will keep a track of the calories you are consuming and won’t lead to any guilty or weight gain. Just eat in moderation and control your portion to avoid any harm to the body and to weight gain.
