Masala Foxnuts

For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 30 grams foxnuts (makhana)
- 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander
Procedure:
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the fox nuts to the pan and roast them for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Reduce the heat to low.
- Sprinkle the turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and chaat masala over the roasted foxnuts. Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
- Add salt to taste and toss the fox nuts again.
- Optionally, squeeze lemon juice over the fox nuts for added flavor and toss to mix.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander if desired.
- Let the masala foxnuts cool completely before serving.
- Store in an airtight container to keep them crispy.
