Monsoon Healthcare – 5 Essential Tips to Boost Immunity

Who doesn’t love waking up to pleasant weather accompanied by an endless downpour of rain? All of us have different memories of the monsoon season and how we loved sitting in our beds, covered in blankets, and chatting with our loved ones. No matter how enjoyable the rainy season is, it also increases the risk of catching infections and diseases. The spread of water-borne diseases intensifies during monsoons. You are at a higher risk of contracting a bacteria or virus. This can adversely affect your health, making your body prone to severe illnesses.

Developing a strong immune system is like providing your body with a shield. This shield fights off infections that are a potential threat to your body. A poor immune system is incapable of defending your body against monsoon related diseases and ailments.

Here are 5 effective tips that can help you boost your immunity during this monsoon season:

  • Drink plenty of clean water to fight the humidity that creeps in during the rainy season. Keep your body hydrated at all times. Dehydration can cause several ailments. You might not feel thirsty but make sure you drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water every day.
  • An efficient way of boosting your immunity is by maintaining hygiene. Living in a clean environment kills the growth of any harmful bacteria or virus. Clean your house thoroughly and check for any water clogging or leakage and repair it immediately.
  • Vitamin C is known to boost the immune system. Eat a lot of vitamin-c rich foods such as oranges, lemons, strawberries, kale, and spinach. Always remember to consume a colorful diet to build a strong immune system.
  • Garlic is a natural antibiotic that protects the body from infections and illnesses. It can successfully cure a common cold and cough. Try eating more garlic to destroy any harmful viruses that enter your body. Make it a habit to chew 1 or 2 pieces of garlic every day.
  • Make sure you get enough sleep. There is no substitute for sleeping. A good night’s sleep is necessary for a healthy functioning body. Get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night to ensure that the body is well-rested.

Reduce your risk of falling ill by sticking to healthy habits. Monsoons are a great time to enjoy with your friends and family. Maintain good hygiene both inside and outside your house.
