It’s that time of the year again when you indulge in family get-togethers, parties, games, and food. But with little or no sleep, no exercise, and a sea of tempting delicacies, it can be a challenge to stay on track and keep your body in good shape.
To enjoy all the festivities guilt-free and making wiser choices for your body, we have listed some unhealthy habits you can stop right away for a healthier and happier tomorrow:
- Unhealthy eating habits: We all know that we have to eat healthy to stay fit, but how many of us follow this. It’s only after we have put on excess weight that it dawns on us to find some diet plan that can help us to lose that excess weight. But, instead of doing that it is better to eat healthily and follow healthy lifestyle patterns by avoiding processed and packaged foods and prefer home-cooked meals.
- Irregular sleeping patterns: For better health, you need sound sleep of at least 6 to 8 hours. If you spend the whole night finishing your pending tasks or binge watching a series that is a routine in almost everybody’s daily life then you are certainly evoking great health hazards. There are too many health related irregularities, which are caused due to lack of sleep. But, if you sleep well you can get rid of all your issues.
- Low levels of water intake: Water accounts for 60 percent of our body so it’s not very surprising that drinking water benefits your total body health. Staying hydrated helps to keep your memory sharp, your mood stable and your motivation well in place. Keeping up with your water intake helps your skin stay supple, your body cool down when it’s hot, allows your muscles and joints to work better, and helps clean toxins out from your body via your kidneys. Increase your water intake and start consuming at least 8-10 glasses of water every day.
- No workout routines: Physical exercise not only keeps you looking great but regular workouts can help you lose weight and boost your energy levels. Also, exercising regularly can help you live longer. Additionally, exercise keeps your heart healthy, lowers your risk of some types of cancers, improves blood flow to your brain, keeps you sharp, and helps to control blood sugar levels. This Diwali, start working out regularly for a healthier life.
- Avoid alcohol consumption: As we all are well aware, late night parties are quite common nowadays- be it an office party, a birthday party, a marriage anniversary, one of the most common beverages at parties is alcohol. This leads you to many life threatening diseases. Next time you go to parties try to avoid or limit alcohol consumption instead choose refreshing drinks like orange slush to lead a healthy life.
Over to you:
On this auspicious festival of lights, take an oath to eliminate all the bad habits from your life gradually for a healthy and safe life free from any health issues.
