Homemade almond butter is a delicious and nutritious spread made from roasted almonds. It is creamy, rich, and packed with healthy fats, making it a perfect addition to toast, smoothies, or as a dip for fruits and vegetables. This simple recipe allows you to control the ingredients, ensuring a wholesome, natural product without any added sugars or preservatives.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams raw almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
Procedure:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Spread the raw almonds evenly on a baking sheet.
- Roast the almonds in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and fragrant. Stir halfway through to ensure even roasting. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Transfer the roasted almonds to a food processor. Blend on high speed for about 10-15 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed. The almonds will go through different stages: first, they will become a powder, then a thick paste, and finally smooth and creamy.
- Once the almond butter reaches your desired consistency, you can add salt and coconut oil if you prefer a smoother texture and enhanced flavor. Blend again until well combined.
- Transfer the almond butter to a clean, airtight jar. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
