Almond Thandai

Almond Thandai is a traditional Indian beverage that is rich, creamy, and aromatic, perfect for festive occasions or as a refreshing drink during hot weather. Made from soaked almonds blended with milk and infused with fragrant spices like cardamom and saffron, this drink not only tantalizes your taste buds but also offers a delightful cooling effect.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 60 grams almonds (soaked overnight)
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • A few strands of saffron
  • Ice cubes

Procedure:

  • Drain and peel the soaked almonds. Blend them with a little milk until smooth to form a thick paste.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the almond paste with the remaining milk, cardamom powder, black pepper powder, and rose water.
  • Blend the mixture until well combined and frothy. If desired, add ice cubes for a chilled drink.
  • Pour into glasses, garnish with saffron strands if using, and enjoy chilled.
