Apple Crumble

This healthy apple crumble combines tender, spiced apples with a crunchy, nutty oat topping, naturally sweetened with dates for a nutritious twist. It’s a warm and comforting dessert, with wholesome ingredients that pair perfectly with a scoop of yogurt or a drizzle of coconut cream.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 2 medium apples (about 150 grams each), peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 40 grams rolled oats
- 20 grams almond flour
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (melted)
- 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
- 1-2 dates (chopped) for natural sweetness
Procedure:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a small baking dish lightly.
- In a bowl, combine chopped apples, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss until apples are well coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix oats, almond flour, melted coconut oil, chopped walnuts or pecans, and chopped dates. Stir until combined and crumbly in texture.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly on top of the apples.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
