Bitter Melon Tea

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium bitter melon (about 100 grams)
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Procedure:

  • Wash the bitter melon thoroughly.
  • Slice it in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  • Cut the bitter melon into thin slices. In a saucepan, bring 500 ml of water to a boil.
  • Add the bitter melon slices to the boiling water.
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • After simmering, strain the tea into cups to remove the bitter melon slices.
  • Add lemon juice and sweetener if desired for enhanced flavour and serve warm.
