Caramelized Bananas are a simple and quick dessert or snack that brings out the natural sweetness of bananas. The rich flavor of the caramelized sugar combined with the creamy texture of the bananas creates a delicious and comforting treat.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 200 grams bananas
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons jaggery
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- A pinch of sea salt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Procedure:
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add the coconut oil.
- Once the oil is melted, sprinkle the jaggery evenly across the pan and allow it to melt, stirring occasionally until it turns golden brown.
- Place the banana slices cut-side down in the pan, and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn golden and start to caramelize. Flip the slices carefully and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon and sea salt over the bananas while cooking. For a slight tang, drizzle the lemon juice over the bananas before removing them from the heat.
- Transfer the caramelized bananas to a plate and serve warm. Enjoy them on their own or as a topping for yogurt, pancakes, or oatmeal.
