Chicken Avocado Roll-ups

Chicken avocado roll-ups are like pinwheels that are double in nutrition and great to be consumed in lunch and are a great add on as party appetizers. They can also be eaten in dinner to add in some uniqueness and nutrition to the meal.

Nutritional Benefits:
Chicken is a great source of protein that is good for development and muscle growth. The amino acid, tryptophan in chicken boosts the serotonin levels of the brain and provides a comforting food. Avocados are a great source of vitamins as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium. They also provide lutein and omega-3 fatty acids. Tortillas are a great source of fiber and help in weight loss and are a substitute to bread.

Ingredients:

  • 10 grams of avocado
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 15 grams of chicken
  • 10 grams bell pepper
  • 10 grams onion
  • 1 teaspoon sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon chives
  • 1 flour tortilla
  • Salt, black pepper and oregano as per taste

Method:

  • Start by taking a medium bowl.
  • Add in the avocado and lime juice and mash until they become small chunks. Then add chicken, bell pepper, red onion, sour cream, and chives and stir until evenly combined.
  • Take a large tortilla, spread a thin layer of the chicken avocado mixture leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Roll the tortilla up tightly and cut off the edges to form rolls.
  • Serve at room temperature.
