Cinnamony Beet Moon Milk

Cinnamony Beet Moon Milk is a vibrant and nourishing beverage that combines the earthy sweetness of beetroot with the warm, comforting flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, and subtle spices. This soothing drink is perfect for winding down in the evening or as a cozy treat during colder months.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 300 ml milk
  • 50 grams peeled and finely grated cooked beetroot
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of ground cardamom

Procedure:

  • In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling.
  • Add the grated beetroot or beetroot powder to the milk. Stir well to combine.
    Incorporate Spices:
  • Add the ground cinnamon, and if using, ground nutmeg and cardamom. Stir to combine.
    Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Let the mixture simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until well combined and heated through.
    If using fresh beetroot and prefer a smooth texture, strain the milk to remove any bits of beetroot.
  • Pour the moon milk into mugs and serve hot.
