Crispy Corn Cutlets

Crispy Corn Cutlets are delightful, golden-brown patties made from a flavorful mixture of sweet corn, mashed potatoes, and aromatic spices. These cutlets offer a satisfying crunch on the outside with a soft, savory interior. They’re best enjoyed with tangy green chutney, making them a perfect snack or appetizer.

For a Serving Size of Two:

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams boiled sweet corn kernels
  • 60 grams mashed boiled potatoes
  • 30 grams bread crumbs
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil  for shallow frying

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, mash the boiled corn kernels slightly, keeping some texture.
  2. Add the mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, green chili, cumin powder, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add fresh coriander and mix again until the ingredients are well combined.
    Divide the mixture into small portions and shape them into flat round cutlets.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.
  5. Place the cutlets in the pan and cook on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.
