Oats Pineapple Sheera is a tropical twist on the traditional semolina-based sweet dish, using oats for a healthier alternative. This warm, comforting treat combines the natural sweetness of chopped pineapple with the nutty flavor of oats, cooked together with coconut, chia seeds, and aromatic cardamom powder. It’s a nourishing option for a light dessert, showcasing the delightful harmony between fruity sweetness and creamy oats.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 60 grams oats
- 150 grams chopped pineapple
- 200 ml water
- 2 tablespoons coconut
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- A pinch of salt
Procedure:
- In a non-stick pan, heat the coconut oil or ghee. Add the chopped pineapple and cook until it starts to soften and release its juices (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the oats to the pan with the pineapple and stir well.
- Pour in the water, and add a pinch of salt. Stir the mixture, and cook over medium heat until the oats are fully cooked and have absorbed most of the liquid (about 5-7 minutes).
- Stir in the grated or desiccated coconut and chia seeds (if using). Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
- Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
Serve warm, garnished with a few more pieces of pineapple or a sprinkle of coconut, if desired.
