This Onion and Bell Pepper Salsa is a vibrant and fresh combination of crunchy bell peppers, juicy tomatoes, and zesty red onion, all enhanced by a squeeze of lime and a hint of spice. It’s a versatile dip or topping that adds a colorful, nutritious kick to any meal.
For a Serving Size of Two:
Ingredients:
- 100 grams finely diced red onion
- 150 grams finely diced red bell pepper
- 150 grams finely diced yellow bell pepper
- 100 grams finely diced tomatoes
- 10 grams finely diced fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 small finely diced green chili
Procedure:
- In a mixing bowl, add the diced red onion, red and yellow bell peppers, tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.
- Add the lime juice, salt, black pepper, and cumin powder. For an extra kick, add the chopped green chili.
- Toss everything together until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, or alongside grilled dishes.
